Issue 46 May–Jun 2024

The latest NGV Magazine chases away the autumn blues with the colour and creativity of Africa Fashion, developed by the Victoria and Albert Museum, London and presented here in Melbourne in partnership with NGV. Meet some of the exhibited designers and read an introduction by curator Dr Christine Checkinska of the V&A. In this issue, we also introduce the pioneers of Australian abstract art, Grace Crowley and Ralph Balson, and explore two new works to join the NGV Collection by women artists – Surrealist photographer Lee Miller and French icon Sarah Bernhardt. We also share a sneak peek into the upcoming Melbourne Winter Masterpieces® 2024 exhibition, Pharaoh.
